Great article Miachel as always. Thanks for sharing. There are always something to learn in your article for me. :)

One question though, how do you charge your client? Based on milestone or when projects are delivered? I would love to know how you do that. If you don't mind to share ;)

This is a complex topic that I can't fully address in a comment, but there should definitely be milestones for larger projects or else there won't be any payment till the very end.

When listing out requirements, I recommend thinking in terms of the progress demos and working backwards from there. ie "What do I need to demo at each milestone mark?"

Your answer can help you benchmark whether each milestone is met.

I too would like to know how and when you projects accepted for payment. And how your contract process looks like on UpWork and Catalant. Writing a contract for software or business planning that is clear to both sides, avoids miscommunication and makes it clear when you have delivered what is promised, when promised is an art.
